Life Aid - Build a Community ... Impact a Nation
Damage in the TsunamiOur Story
Damage in the TsunamiLife Aid International was founded in 2005 by a small group of business and community leaders based in Townsville and Sydney with a vision to combine and expand their current activities in overseas development work.
The reason for this effort was due to the rapid increase in requests for assistance in community development projects through the contacts these people had in third world and developing nations.
By taking this step to form a registered overseas aid organisation meant that projects could be managed appropriately and be a means through which people and companies could receive taxable deductions in recognition of their partnership in these projects. Co-Aid... our sponsoring organisation and is a consortium of agencies in international relief and development working with staff and volunteers in over 100 countries.

Co-Aid provides Life Aid International with advice and technical resources in the area of project design and implementation.
Life Aid International has assisted in the recovery of 5 villages in Sri Lanka after disastrous damage caused by the tsunami that ravaged a number of coastal communities off the Indian Ocean. Assistance was in the form of clearing and rebuilding as well as the provision of emergency supplies and assistance to fishermen to rebuild their businesses.
We were also engaged with the sponsoring of orphans in India, development of a widows home, purchased livestock to develop milk businesses and provided food relief.
Life Aid International is currently working with the Torba Province in Vanuatu, building a school and associated projects to support the ongoing sustainability of the school. Also we are currently still in Sri Lanka with new opportunities arising soon.
